SilveStre Valente Sechene – A friend to everyon

Dr. Silvestre Valente Sechene served with dedication and competence as Chairman of the Board of Directors of our LAM – Mozambique Airlines, from June 12, 2014 to February 8, 2016, and contributed so much to the growth and development of the company.

Sechene was more than a leader, he stood out as a mentor, a colleague and, above all, a friend to us all.

He arrived at LAM and immediately felt an empathy with it that was praiseworthy at every level.

He worked hard to overcome the many controversial feelings he encountered at LAM.

With the greatest calm the world has ever known, he listened to all the workers’ concerns, one by one, in all the company’s work units.

He went around the work areas with the duty of immersing himself in everything that was of concern to the workers.

Everyone remembers the exhaustive survey of the company’s relevant issues that Dr. Sechene inspired in the members of his Board of Directors.

Always present at meetings, you could hear his voice speaking to everyone, in a wise encouragement and lesson to involve everyone in reflecting on the common good and finding solutions to concerns.

He knew how to take care of the personality that through it celebrates benevolence, helping others, cordiality, and the willingness to laugh until he laughs with real joy.

It was on his initiative that LAM workers learned that they could march with their PCA on the first of May. Dr. Sechene always made a point of being with the workers at the parade.

His actions are well recorded. The responsibility now is to enforce them so that a good atmosphere prevails between employees and between employees and managers, so that everyone remains united and focused on achieving good results.

We will do everything we can to dedicate ourselves to this incessant search for the quality of a good citizen, a committed professional and a valiant servant to the public.
