Anantara – The experience of nature

The sea and the sky are both there, reflecting each other, perpendicular. After waking up, stretching, pulling the curtains, it is this image that fills the horizon. The sun is rising on the other side, beyond the dunes, another side show. But first I let myself listen to the waves crashing on the hulls of the speedboats, one of which will later take us to Santa Carolina.

The Anantara is the gateway to Bazaruto, the largest island that gives its name to the archipelago off the coast of Vilankulo. The bungalows are connected between bridges made of wood. The trees in the wind and the birds enjoying a freedom that, these days, humans don’t have. Nature is vivid and the construction of the hotel tried not to change this too much. In fact, the beauty of Anantara lies in the images of Bazaruto that it offers us: the sea on one side, the dunes on the other, the trees occupying a large extension in the middle, almost making us think about what the world was like before human presence.
